I know it may feel forced or compromised, but I assure you, it’s not. "Purposeful Work" is the driving force behind our mission, our vision, and our values. Allow me to explain.
Intention, Not Accident
Nothing about what we do is rote, mindless, or accidental. Every action we take is intentional and rooted in an understood purpose. his sets the stage for planning and consideration to be the first step of each day, task, project, or initiative. Everything is on purpose.
The Discipline of Planning
We plan ahead to set the stage for our work to be purposeful. We lay surface protection, so things don't get damaged. We sharpen our pencils so our marks are sure and accurate. We consider who our work might affect and communicate with them proactively. Before we execute, we take time to envision the day, imagine what could go right and wrong, and ask ourselves: "How can I prepare to perform at the highest level today? Do we have the right tools, in the right condition, and in the right place?"
Flow
Not just getting things done, but having reverence for the gift of work. A flow state is a spiritual state. We are thankful for when our work presents itself in the form of flow and always pursue the balance of preparation and flow.
A Source of Growth and Character
When we say “purposeful work” are committing our work to be a testament to our character.
The way you do something is the way you do everything.
